So...I really wanted to put my vacation pictures of Alaska up. But then when I went to go and choose, I got overwhelmed O_o and didn't want to upload an entire album. If any of you are interested, let me know, and I'll try again.

In the meanwhile...(back in good 'ol San Diego)...I passed my test for the first half of my blackbelt test!!! Doubly exciting is that apparently I'm not as bad as I thought I was. Too fast! FACE SHOT!!!!....and wait...what? is that a black belt I'm sparring? maybe just a lucky shot...naw! his block was a little to slow XD

footnote: oh yea...lyndon's (my sparring opponent) pretty cool. I think maybe he went easy on me, cuz he's one of the best sparring peeps at the school.

anime expo was so much fun!! there were so many cool cosplay and i felt like such a celebrity. i think Minh even found some pictures of us online. i got interviewed to go on tv and all that jazz. at first when i told some people i went, i got laughed at...i guess because it seems pretty nerdy of me to dress up and go? perhaps, but i had loads of fun!

So, I got a deap cleaning from my dentist. I was sitting in the chair for a pretty long time with my mouth numbed and the screeching of the dental tools ringing in my ears. I kept thinking why I would just voluntarily lay there straining my jaw only to have soar gums for the rest of the day. And worst of all, I was stupid enough to schedule my appointment right before lunch time. This resulted in a very miserable afternoon because I couldn't eat without fear of biting my tongue or cheek and drooling uncontrollably...I'm sure that's very attractive.

Anyhows, it got me thinking that it's a bit of a paradox; how can something that puts you in so much pain actually be good for you. I mean, isn't pain an indicator that something bad is happening to your body that shouldn't be?

Well, I thought this clip was really funny. I remember when this scenario happened to me and it was so mortifying and shameful when I got scolded. It's kinda funny here though and I can relate back - hindsight - whatta kicker!
